The ITAQ endows itself with a unique laboratory in Canada.
For the development of tomorrow’s vehicle

Saint-Jérôme, April 29th 2009 – The Quebec Advanced Transportation Institute (ITAQ) recently unveiled its new advanced transportation laboratory to a wide audience of partners, scientific, entrepreneurs and representatives of the political world. Hugo Marsolais, director of operations and initiator of the project, claims “ITAQ’s new laboratory is equipped with cutting edge technology equipments able to support and even propel the growth of dynamic enterprises resolutely engaged in developing innovative and competitive products in the field of advanced transportation, a sector indubitably dedicated to a promising future in Québec and Canada”.

Those present at that day have had the opportunity to attend a demonstration of a few of these equipments such as dynamometers, emissions analyser, battery cycling bench / 125kW DC power source, 3D laser scanner, computer aided design platform which will facilitate the design of tomorrow’s vehicle.

ITAQ’s generic test vehicle : « An innovation catalyst »
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the unveiling of the generic test vehicle. True mobile, modular and scalable research station, this vehicle specifically tailored to the industry’s researchers needs allows the validation of new propulsion technologies, whether they be electric, hybrid or even hydrogen. This project of a 5.4M$ value was made possible through the financial contribution of the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, the Government of Quebec and twenty private partners.
